22 years teaching in Scottsboro City Schools - I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and
8th grades and also visually impaired
have taught 6th grade for the past 16 years. I teach social studies and language arts. I have participated for the past three years in the Teachers
are Historians in Training (T-HIT) grant which provides training and
materials for the most up to date teaching of social studies. I also am a
member of the NCSS (National Council of the Social Studies).
Family - Mother, 2 sisters (and their husbands), 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 cats
- Aspel Methodist Church where I teach an adult Sunday School class and coordinate Vacation Bible School.
Interests and hobbies - working with the youth at church, gardening (especially flowers),
spending time with my nieces, and reading
Other - I was born in Scottsboro and graduated from Woodville High School. I have lived
in the small community of Aspel most of my life.
